YG spiral pointed tap M5*0.8

Spiral tap

Structural design: The groove of the spiral tap is spiral, which is different from the linear groove of ordinary hand-held taps. This unique design can easily discharge iron chips out of the hole by virtue of the upward rotation of the spiral groove during tapping.

Applicable scenarios: It is particularly suitable for tapping of non-through-hole cutting materials, and is often used for drilling blind holes in CNC machining centers. For example, when blind-hole machining of materials such as stainless steel, it can play an excellent cutting effect and quickly and smoothly cut out threads.

Performance advantages: It can effectively prevent iron chips from remaining or clogging in the groove, reduce the risk of tap breakage and blade cracking, thereby extending the service life of the tap and cutting out threads with higher precision. At the same time, the processing speed is faster, the chip removal is better, and the centering is good. When processing high-toughness materials, the spiral tap performs particularly well, but it is not suitable for materials with fine chips such as cast iron. Some spiral taps are made of cobalt-containing high-speed steel, which has excellent wear resistance and can improve work efficiency. Its unique spiral design makes chip removal smoother.

Tip tap: Tip tap, also called lower chip removal tap, is designed to discharge chips forward during tapping. This feature makes it perform well in through-hole processing, with strong heat dissipation, which can effectively prevent chips from scratching the processed thread surface. It can tap to the lowest part of the blind hole without cutting residue, with smooth chip removal, easy to eat into the bottom hole, and good cutting effect. When performing through-hole processing on low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel and other materials, the tip tap can operate stably, and due to its cutting edge design, the cutting is sharper.

Product Details

Tip tap (straight groove tap)

Groove design: straight groove (no helix angle), cutting edge straight.

Chip removal direction: chips are discharged from the hole mouth to the front (suitable for through hole processing).

Cutting edge force: mainly axial force, radial force is small.

Material selection: commonly used high-speed steel (HSS), some high-end models use carbide

Spiral tap

Groove design: spiral groove (common helix angle 15°-45°), cutting edge is spiral.

Chip removal direction: chips are discharged backward (suitable for blind hole and deep hole processing).

C
utting edge force: radial force is generated during spiral cutting, requiring higher rigidity support.

Material selection: mostly cobalt-containing high-speed steel or powder high-speed steel, which has stronger wear resistance.
